located to explore most of Scotland lying between Edinburghand Perth
one mile east ofCrook of Devon, 5 miles west of the Kinross M90junction
(J 6).

Carefully converted by an architect the cottage has kept all its
traditional external features whilst creating a modern interior. The Cottage
has 1 twin bedroom and 1 double bedroom: in addition the living room has
a sofa double bed. A cot can be provided. The living/dining room
has a wood-burning stove and colour T.V. There is no central heating
but each room has radiators or convector heaters. The kitchen has an
electric cooker, fridge, microwave and washing machine.
It is equipped with crockery, cutlery and cookware. The bathroom has a bath
but no shower. The electric meter is read on arrival and departure.
In summer the electric bill is about £10pw, in winter
about £25pw. There is a payphone and good mobile
phone reception. Linen, towels and tea towels are supplied.
There is car parking for four cars, a private enclosed garden area and patio
with furniture.
About the area.
Crook of Devon is the nearest village with a shop/post office
(6 am to 6 pm), The Inn which serves hot food, and a "catch your own fish"
at the Fish Farm and Coffee Bar. There is also a petrol station and fabric
shop in the village. There are some local walks maps available.
There are several good restaurants nearby includingthe
Tormaukin in Glen Devon and Heatheryford on the way to Kinross.
Kinross town
is close by with regular boat trips to Loch LevenCastle in the summer.
There are golf courses, fishing, a swimming poolwith health suite, sauna and
squash courts.
You are surrounded by hills all of which offer interesting
& diverse walks from the fossils in the Lomonds to the hill lochs ofthe
Cleish Hills and the extended rough walking through the Ochil Hills.
Within six miles is Loch Leven and the RSPB Vane Farm Nature Reserve.
and over the hill is Lochore Meadows Country Park which offers
canoeing, , windsurfing, etc. Knockhill racing circuit and Portmoak
airfield are nearby as well as a range of golf courses from quiet and friendly
9 hole courses to the more challenging and scenic courses at Muckhart and
on to the championship courses at Gleneagles. The gorge and waterfalls at
Rumbling Bridge and Castle Campbell at Dollar are a must.
Edinburgh, Stirling, Dundee, Perth and
St Andrews are all within an hour's drive.
There is a limited local bus service. The Glasgow to St
Andrews bus stop is a five minute walk away and Kinross is served by the
fast Inverness inter-city buses.
Shops including the local supermarket are open for extended
hours and Sundays.
Where to find us
Leave M90 at Junction 6 and go West along the A977 for 5
miles until a T junction at the Shell garage just before Crook of Devon.
Turn left along the B9097 for 1 mile and turn left again through the stone
pillars of the Castle entrance.
