This charming cosy, traditional stone Longhouse with a Pantile roof was the smithy of the 16th/17th C castle and is fully restored with a new conservatory giving access to its own private garden. It is ideally located to explore most of Central Scotland.
Lying between Edinburgh and Perth one mile east of Crook of Devon, 5 miles west of the Kinross M90 junction (J 6).

before Crook of Devon left along B9097 for one mile, drive on left
through two stone pillars set back from road. Nearest airport Edinburgh,

Very convenient for central ScotlandCarefully converted by an architect the Longhouse has kept all its traditional external features, adapting the open-plan layout of a longhouse to the 21st century. It has 1 double bedroom and underfloor heating throughout which make it very easy to keep warm. The living/dining room has a wood-burning stove, flat-screen colour T.V, a fridge, oven/microwave and washing machine. It is equipped with crockery, cutlery and cookware. The bathroom has a spacious walk-in shower but no bath. We have both synthetic and down pillows and duvets: We will give you down unless you let us know otherwise.
Frendlay There is good mobile phone reception and wifi. Linen, towels and tea towels are supplied. There is ample car parking for more then four cars and a private enclosed garden area with furniture. Peacocks will visit you.
About the area.
Crook of Devon is the nearest village with a shop/post office (6 am to 6 pm), The Inn which serves hot food and provides takeaways. There is also a petrol station and fabric shop in the village. There are some local walks maps available.
There are several good restaurants nearby including the Tormaukin in Glen Devon and Heatheryford on the way to Kinross.
Kinross town is close by with regular boat trips to Loch Leven Castle in the summer. There are golf courses, fishing, a swimming pool with health suite, sauna and squash courts.
You are surrounded by hills all of which offer interesting & diverse walks from the fossils in the Lomonds to the hill lochs of the Cleish Hills and the extended rough walking through the Ochil Hills. Within six miles is Loch Leven and the RSPB Vane Farm Nature Reserve. and over the hill is Lochore Meadows Country Park which offers canoeing, windsurfing, etc. Knockhill racing circuit and Portmoak airfield are nearby as well as a range of golf courses from quiet and friendly 9 hole courses to the more challenging and scenic courses at Muckhart and on to the championship courses at Gleneagles. The gorge and waterfalls at Rumbling Bridge and Castle Campbell at Dollar are a must.
Edinburgh, Stirling, Dundee, Perth and St Andrews are all within an hour's drive.
There is a limited local bus service. The Glasgow to St Andrews bus stop is a five minute walk away and Kinross is served by the fast Edinburgh - Inverness inter-city buses.
Shops including the local supermarket are open for extended hours and Sundays.
Short breaks are: Bookable only 4 weeks before arrival in the high summer and any time off-season.

Short breaks are normally available but in the Summer they are bookable only 4 weeks before arrival. Feel free to inquire.
The changeover day is Friday (3pm arrival and 10am departure) or by arrangement.
30% deposit is required by return to confirm booking. Balance due 6 weeks before arrival or if booked under 6 weeks on booking .
